A genuine name can be misused
A clone may copy a real company’s name or registration details while using different contact information or domains. Seeing a name in a register does not prove that the person contacting you represents that company.
Compare independent details
Use the regulator’s official register and independently obtained contact details to check the relationship. Save the website address, messages and payment instructions used in your own interaction.
